A towering figure in reproductive medicine, Pr. Fethi Zhioua has shaped the landscape of fertility care in Tunisia and across Africa for nearly four decades. A Doctor of Medicine since 1985, he has dedicated his career to advancing the science and practice of assisted reproduction.
As Professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Tunis since 1993, he has trained generations of reproductive medicine specialists. He established and has led the Reproductive Medicine Diploma program since 2003, creating a pipeline of clinical excellence.
His most historic achievement remains the founding of the first public IVF center at Aziza Othmana Hospital in 1991 — a milestone that democratized access to fertility treatment in Tunisia. With over 120 scientific publications, his research continues to influence clinical practice worldwide.
